Annual Mass of Thanksgiving for Volunteers
On behalf of Bishop Patrick Dunn and the Diocesan Faith Formation Team, we cordially invite all parish volunteers to share in our Mass of Thanksgiving, celebrating all of the wonderful work you do in supporting the Body of Christ in our parish communities.
Bishop Patrick will celebrate the Mass which will be held at the Cathedral of St Patrick and St Joseph on Saturday 9th November 2019, starting at 5.30pm. It will be the vigil Mass. Validated parking will be available. See you all there
Training for Lay Leaders
The Liturgy Centre and Good Shepherd College are together hosting training and formation for Lay Leaders of the Word. This is training for people to lead Liturgy of the Word on weekdays, in the absence of a priest. The course will take place on six Saturdays over a period of six months: Oct 19th Nov 23rd Feb 22nd March 7th & 28th April 25th, 9.30 – 3.00pm, each day. Attendance on each of the six Saturdays is required to complete the training and some work between sessions will also be required. The course will be held at Good Shepherd College, 20 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby. Each training day will begin at 9.30am and finish at 3.00pm. The final opportunity this year to attend the safeguarding seminar. It’s on 9 November 10am-12 noon, Sacred Heart Church, 40 Vermont Street, Ponsonby. Anyone in the parish who visits or works with young people and vulnerable adults needs to attend. Please email Lisa-May if you wish to attend, email@example.com. The Auckland Diocesan Commission for Ecumenism and Interfaith Relations (ADCEIR) is mandated by the Bishop of Auckland. It is looking for a logo, and seeks for your artistic and design skills. The logo design requirements is to capture the statement “Unity in Diversity”. Scholarship for Study at Good Shepherd College
Bishop Patrick Dunn is pleased call for applications for a scholarship known as the Ruth Miller Scholarship for Study at Good Shepherd College. This scholarship will be available for a selected number of people who intend to do one or more Theology papers at Good Shepherd College towards a Graduate Diploma of Bachelor of Theology degree in 2020. Msgr Raymond Thomas Green
First Parish Priest of St Mark Catholic Parish, Pakuranga. He died at the age of 92 having lived a full life and ministry in God’s vineyard. May he rest in peace!
